





The current 2023 trip, has been a long time in the planning. Myself and 3 mates are heading for Antarctica and South America.

I was awake just after 6, and up I got. I had a morning phaffing, an hour later I hadn’t started normal morning tasks but I did1. replace flag on sand flag (thanks to Jackson’s for the sand flag they found earlier in the trip)2. Set my camera charger up to charge batteries in preparation

We got into camp later in the day yesterday, which meant a rush to set up. Also fighting with mozzies and prickles everywhere. So forgot the dressing tent till it was bedtime and need to change into pjs. Bugger!!!! Going to be a tricky pack up with all the prickles. Needed to lighten the load

When cleaning my teeth last night this strange critter was on my ‘spitting’ tree. Departed Jervois at 9:10. All fuelled and watered up. Now we tackle the Horror stretch fully loaded. Up and at it early this morning as we needed to get moving to fuel up and head for the desert. For brekkie I had porridge which was quite nice and filling. Over to the fuel line, which wasn’t too bad, to top up and get the jerry cans off the roof ready for filling.
