Day four . Lameroo to Morgan. 5.7.26

****please if you comment, leave your name as mostly I can’t identify who is making comment****

A good meal at the pub last night and then home for showers, a bit of phaffing before early to bed. It was chilly but the new system of battery and inverter and the electric blanket, combined with a hot water bottle kept me warm and toasty (electric blanket was off once I was in bed! So water and electricity didn’t mix.)

This morning was a tad chilly so no one was up and about early except Col who went for a walk.

Normal morning procedure – billy on to boil, breakfast prepared and cup of tea around the table in the patch of sun shining down between the trees.
Pack up and departure about 10:45.
Travel through Billiatt Wilderness Protection area north to Alawoona and on towards Loxton.

Main building in Alawoona.

At Loxton we stopped for loos, lunch and some fruit and veg (after passing through Fruit Fly Quarantine)

Heard a cool random quote on the radio today “blessed are the flexible that can’t be bent out of shape.”

After lunch we moseyed along to Swan Reach where we had a look at the Murray River from Big Bend lookout.

Pano at Big Bend.

Back into Swan Reach to catch the ferry across the Murray and out to see some caves, that we couldn’t find access to.

Docking on the other side.

Next to Blanchetown and back across the Murray (by bridge this time) then along the river lands to Morgan where we crossed back again by ferry to Morgan caravan park, which we’d booked at lunch as we figured most wild camps along the Murray will be boggy and wet. We were offered a discount card for the pub – so that settled our plans for tea.

We walked over and back, while the night air was cool it was a pleasant walk after a warm shower and much needed wash of the hair.

The ferry here runs 24/7. So I lay here snug in bed and can hear it idling on the opposite side of the river.
