Way out West 2025. 13th of August.  Day twenty- seven.

Jamestown CP to Bottle Bend camp (on the Murray near Mildura )

Breaky this morning of Egg and Bacon wraps cooked in the excellent camp Kitchen at The Park at Jamestown. It had been a frost overnight, but we had our heaters and power so warm and toasty.

Then a wander around town, it reminds me of Yarragon, a great little town with lots of history.

Onto the road again we headed for Mildura via Spalding and Burra on the RM Williams Way. Lots of healthy looking crops and old buildings along the way.
We had to stop and drop fruit before entering the Riverland so had a little stop to eat some apples and bananas, before heading on to Renmark for a small lunch.

Eating our fruit at the Quarantine non stop.

Then we detoured around Mildura via Werrimul to our last bush camp of the trip at Bottle Bend. (We stayed here last year too). We did a quick stop along the road to collect some firewood for tonight.
A little wet coming in, but we could divert around most of the muddy puddles and wheel ruts.
It’s very peaceful pulled up beside the Mighty Murray.
We set up and did the usual biccies and dips before thinking about what to cook for tea.
Just so peaceful here. The sky is clear and moon is rising later so some stargazing was called for.
We were sitting around camp and could hear splashing so I got up to have a look and looked up to see a line of about 20 satellites streaking across the sky – a-maz-ing. Mary captured it well. I only got a few of the tail end. Very exciting.
Our last camp oven cook up – beef Tikka Masala.
