An outback trip is in the planning with the usual suspects.
The catalyst for this trip is the fact that Brian will be in Alice Springs following his Larapinta Trail walk and has some leave up his sleeve.
The plan is to meet Brian and then head West to the Sandy Blight Junction track.
The rough plan has been in place for about 12 months or so and I have aligned my retirement date to the trip.
As is our usual custom we have had a few get-togethers to discuss without many details being finalised. However, it will all come together in the end. Given the floods and rain up north this year, it has to be a little flexible.
I retired on 11 July and we take off on the 18th so there has been some hectic packing in preparation to get ready.
Originally there were nine of us:
Steve and his new Troopy
Stef and his old Disco
Mary and Col in their 200 series
Mary and Phil in new Fortuner and ultimate camper
Brian and Anne in the Nissan
And me in Budd, the Pajero Sport towing Stuey’s Cart (TVan)
Unfortunately Mary and Col are a late scratching.
