Madi’s Manoeuvres. Mildura to Bottle Bend. Day 22 – 22 June 2024.

Overnight was freezing- coldest morning we’ve had.

Steve and Stef headed off before 8 this morning.

We had a message from Brian that they’d made it home to Mirboo North about 11pm after leaving us at Parachilna.

The remaining 4 are dawdling about in Mildura today and we will head South again sometime. Phil had some things to attend to with Kate’s car.

The day was beaut when the sun came out. We had our cuppa tea and egg n bacon breaky in the brand new camp kitchen. The amenities block was brand new too, beautifully hot showers.

The River Bend on which the Caravan Park sits.

We had a drive around the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens and a cuppa and scones.

We paid a visit to Kings camping store which was a little dangerous, Kate purchased a few items I purchased a couple of things and then Phil purchased a couple more things. So we are keen to camp for one more night Kate. Very keen to camp to try out some of the new purchases.

So we headed about 30 minutes away through Redcliffe to camp along the river at a place called Bottle Bend.

We have wood to burn and Kate has a new fire pit and side walls and floor for awning to christen.
A nice easy day.
Sitting by the Mighty Murray with the fire pit ablaze with our wood (some from home) collected along the way with a full moon rising behind the trees on the opposite bank. This is nature and camping at its best.

We saw a Rakali (native water rat/Australian Otter)
Mary says ‘top pick’ for the campsite.

We really got lucky with it being full moon and the position with it rising across the river with reflections etc.

Tea tonight was camp oven Pad Thai followed by Kate and Mary’s camp oven lemonade scones and a bit of fire play.
