The Five Esses Tour – April 2024. What’s this all about? 30 March 2024

After returning from Antarctica, South America and Rapa Nui in 2023, the question on everyone’s lips was…Where to next?

There was nothing on the agenda, until a conversation with Suzie (Aunty Sue) regarding her plans for 2024, there were two options and April suited me, the destination – South Korea! I’m in.

Suzie and another of her travelling companions – Susie, (which makes two of the FOUR ESSES) had planned a private tour of South Korea, and I (that’s the fifth ‘s’) was able to crash the trip. All the planning taken care of, all I really had to do was pay up!

Aunty Sue and I decided to add a few days following South Korea in Singapore (there’s the FIVE ESSES – Suzie, Susie, South Korea, Singapore and Stuey (me).

I met up with Susie M late last year, when we all met for a Korean dinner at a fabulous Korean place in Little Collins Street called Doju Restaurant. As it turned out it had only been open a few days and we were the only caucasians in the place. The food and drink was stunning, service was great. It was really great to meet Susie and talk about the trip a bit.

Since then, it’s been busy finalising the details, and sorting out flights etc (thanks to Keith on that front.)

We met up again recently at Ned’s Bakery in Armadale to fill in some details for the Free days we have in Seoul. A couple of Michelin starred restaurants and a food tour.

Now the trip is only days away, finished up at work for Easter and have a few days to pack and get organised before heading off to Melbourne on Wednesday after Easter, ready to fly out at 12:35am on the 4th.

Right now, I’m in the throes of trying to change up the look and feel of the WordPress page and blog – with little success. I’ve also been working hard to finalise the packing and preparation. Making a list and checking it rabidly.
