Woozy, walking and golfing . 11 March 2023.

Woke to the view of sun rising behind the hills.

I certainly woke this morning feeling sun par – quite woozy and yuk. Upstairs for breaky – quite a good spread – amazing views out across the Beagle Channel. Mary and Phil needed to wash, I closed the eyes on the bed for a while. We are taking off for the Glacier Martial which is about a 45 minute up the hill. Turned out to be a beautiful walk along a river through the ancient Fagus trees. Up the chair lift which was out of action being redone. Then walked up to take some pics of Martial glacier. Home for lunch before our pick up to take us to play golf at the bottom of the world – Ushuaia.

Golf commentary here from the golfers. Course in good conditions, greens were good – but we weren’t quite on the pace of the chip. The greens don’t take spin. No rain, sunny day, windy, beautiful views of mountains. Let the pictures tell the story.

We got a message from Yvonne – an old friend and teammate of mine at Volleyball and Steve had played badminton with both Yvonne and Marion. Anyway they are getting off a ship in Ushuaia tonight, so meeting for a drink. We arranged to meet at Ramos Generales and had dinner while we waited. Mary and I enjoyed our first two Pisco Sours. After a delicious meal we had another drink prior to Yvonne and Marion’s arrival. A little later than expected as their ship had to await the departure of another cruise prior to docking.

On return to hotel (after sorting a few things in town) we nicked up to the viewpoint on third floor of Los Acebos with great views over Ushuaia.
