Last airport for a while…10 March 2023

A short but wonderful sleep last night. Thankfully Steve and I are compatible in terms of room temperature, so a good sleep for about ) hours. Breaky at Dazzler Wyndham was good.

Hot, hot, hot. Buenos Aires is in the mid 30’s and quite humid. We’ve dressed a bit warmer both to reduce luggage weight (we passed through all checks. Steve was over but no comment made 👍). Plane delayed and we left about 20mins late. This is our last flight until 5th April and just under 4 hours. We actually caught a bus to the plane and walked on.

A better shot of function centre from the plane.

Really hot flight, not much to see until we were almost at Ushuaia. We arrived and waited for baggage then on to meet Sharni from Rumbo Sur bus transfer. Our hotel is on the hill overlooking Ushuaia and a resort. We are on floor O, but still good views. We had a late lunch in the bar – minestrone for Phil and Mary, ham and cheese toasted for Steve and I.

All makes doing the safety briefing today.

After lunch we walked from resort into Ushuaia and walked around town, down to the port and had arvo tea at El Almacen Ramos Generales – the first one Mary and I visited last time. A lovely hot choc and shared a Baileys mousse slice and an Apple strudel at 6.30. Then we needed a bank for some cash and a good look around the town.

We passed by the place we shared King Crab with Rob and Gay Higgins last time. We decided to revisit. Pics below tell the tale.

Time to head home and look for some water to buy on the way. Tired and ready for showers and sleep. Tomorrow is an easy slow start with first planned activity at 1.30 with a trip to the Del Mundo golf course for 9 holes. Sleep in!
