The Girls International Whirlwind Restaurant Tour. Jan. 2026. Prologue.

Some time back (early Sept 2025), our favourite Uncle sent an email as follows:

…do we all agree the January whirlwind tour for Sue’s 75th was an outstanding success?

I would like to suggest we think about something in early January 2026. 

I’m thinking 5 days somewhere just to celebrate the fact we are all still living and loving.”

So began The Girls International Whirlwind Restaurant Tour. Jan. 2026 (The Girls = Aunty Sue, Cousin Hayley, sister Bronwyn and I)

Keith has done pretty much ALL the planning and management of the trip. Villa booked in Bali for 3 days, then onto Manila for four days. We just have to decide where to stay in Manila which we managed to do.

Keith has arranged EVERYTHING else down to finest details. We have a What’s App chat that stretches over many, many posts with literally hundreds of tips and hints. From where to catch a bike, where to eat, get coffee, how to do the online VISA etc for Bali. How much to pay for motorbikes. Best poncho for rain, and on and on it goes.

The What’s App chat has been running hot since 4 September so we could plot and scheme and plan. Aunty Sue was granted access a little while after she returned from overseas.

The group has 223 media files and hundreds maybe thousands of posts.…and counting!!!!

We met together in St Kilda mid November to organise some of the detail – Visa’s and other sh€@# done together. We did Keith’s head in. K also opened the bank and we bought some local currency for Bali and Phillipines.
