Moe to Dubai.
And just like that, it’s DDay. Ready for departure.
Awoke to a Vline SMS saying no trains, buses to Pakenham East, due to an emergency at Traralgon.
Luckily, later trains were running from Morwell. So Mary and Phil had to bus it to Morwell.

Pete B kindly picked me up and delivered me to the Station at Moe.

Then along the came the train – about 10 minutes late and we are on our way.

A delayed trip to Southern Cross where Bronwyn was waiting to pick us up. Back to hers drop off some stuff and have a cuppa tea.

While having a coffee we played with our What’s App avatars and awaited Suzie’s arrival.
Keith messaged to say they couldn’t contact Suzie, so we tried and got in touch and met near the gate. Suzie took Mary into the lounge for the experience and Phil and I hung out at the gate lounge. 8:20pm almost time to board.

Late to board. Suzie and Mary appeared after their nice glass of Moët and Suzie was called to First class soon after.

Next was Mary and Phil they are in row 82. Then me to row 68.

On board and settled in by 9.10. Due to take off at 9:15pm. Moving back at 9:14. Very efficient. Lift off at 9:32.

The flight was almost uneventful. Two movies, a sleep, read The Express, listened to some music. The event was a grumpy lady beside me who was unhappy when I needed to return to my seat. I had jumped out when the Dad and son beside me went to the loo and had to ask her to let me back in. I juggled her tray and coffee and in the process she tipped her water over the seat and herself and wanted to blame me. I got an extra blanket to cover the wet patch on HER seat. Interesting seat mate. She had had at least three vodkas and water before we were fed and a white wine with dinner. A tad sozzled or pickled is my guess. She told at least three attendants of her wet pants. Anyway – whinge and win – she scored a set of PJs from Business Class.
The Dad and son – Edwin (about 8 yo) are flying to Manchester, and Paris and Liverpool to watch some soccer. Liverpool fans evidently.

Watched a cute doco. Billy and Molly: An Otter Love Story. True story from Shetland Is.
We landed EARLY at 5:05am Dubai time (due at 6:15)
Then a cab to Hotel Raddisson Blu Dubai Canal view. Now it’s the 10th and I need to start a new post.
One response to “Awesome African Adventure. Day 1-April 9 & 10 2025.”
Loving it already!
