Everyone had reasonable sleep, there was a dog barking over the fence which kept a few of awake. I heard it at 4:20 when I woke up warm!!! Then back to sleep till 7:30 pretty happy with that!
There was a lot of phaffing this morning to redistribute to Kate’s car and completing our first pack ups.
A few items forgotten that we purchased at Anaconda, then fuelled up and headed off to shop at Renmark.

Entered South Australia and unfortunately I had forgotten strawberries in the fridge so at the Quarantine check I had to be taken away for questioning. Whether or not I will be fined will be determined by the powers that be in Adelaide. NOT HAPPY Jan but no one to blame but myself.
Onwards to Renmark to shop, have lunch and determine where to from here.

We had been aiming for Burra but decided to divert to Mount Mary. Mary, Phil and I had enjoyed there a drink a few years back in 2022. They have a free campground over The road so might be a bit of fun.
A nice drive today with autumn coloured grape vines, vineyards, a few emus, pelicans, rainbow lorikeets and generally sunshiny day.
We stopped into Morgan for a look and another obligatory car shot.

Then just a short hop down the road to Mt Mary. Set up camp and headed over to the pub for a drink and tea from quite an extensive menu.

Enjoyed a colour changing G&T made by a mate of the barman.

They also do the only SA alcoholic creaming soda.

The meals were fabulous and we all enjoyed sitting in the dining room with open fire. Don’t think anyone was keen to head back to camp to ready for bed.
We have booked into Moolooloo
Station in the Flinders Ranges tomorrow night.

We took over the dining room to fill the time in the warmth. We were ready for bed but it was only 7:50pm. A tad early.

Soon we will wander back to camp…I’m sure!

love the red soil and the sunset at camp pic. Do you think they ate your strawberries? I’d be tempted to if that was my job!

I have been sleeping in the swag under Kate’s awning. Tonight I’ve gone for my awning.
