Day 23. Homeward bound. Well, the big smoke at least. 26 April 2024.

Showers, final pack up, bags to lobby, breaky, then a short cab ride to Changi Airport.

Beautiful Hotel Intercontinental bathroom downstairs.

The BEFORE luggage pic was last nights last photo. Here we are packed miraculous into these four.

We were ahead of schedule, some Tiger Balm patches purchased to stock the Sloan supplies, then up to lounge, I went to do some research into a new watch and ways to spend the last $60SGD.

It was soon time to board and once again I am fortunate to have a business class ride back to Melbourne (thanks to a very generous Aunty and Uncle’s donation of flyer miles).

The entrance to the lounge – love having access to a lounge.

Took some pics on takeoff. So many islands around here, many many ships in the harbour and good views of Singapore city.

The islands continued for a good distance into flight and then what I think was a smog cloud appeared.

Time to watch a movie- The Beekeeper’ and write the blog.

Also watched another chick flick Anyone but You. Mid way through had the bed made up for a brief 40 winks. The movie was mostly set in Australia – pretty third rate and some interesting portrayal of Oz.

Good food and service.

Saw some of the SA outback out the window and flew in over Port Lincoln area with a bit of sunset colour.
Landed at Melbourne about 30min ahead of schedule at 7:55, only to wait 10 or so minutes for a gate change. Looks cool and clear out there, a bit of a change from Singapore!!!

Now to await baggage, clear customs, hail a taxi to St Kilda and think about train times for the morning.

Nice Uber X with Mohammed home to Keith and the dogs. A cuppa and shower before bed. Up early tomorrow for the final leg via Vline train home.

  1. You made a flight from Singapore to Melbourne a lot more interesting than I have ever found. I guess this is the last blog I will be seeing from you for a while. Its been challenging at times to log into WordPress and I have to be honest and tell you I did a bit of speed reading occasionally :-) Glad the trip went well and thanks for just being the best Niece in the world.

    • Nice to have you along. It’s a bit of a bugger that WordPress is not always user friendly. It may be how I’ve set it up – who knows. Thanks to you for all your comments and following along AND for the upgrades.
